The Salus wireless thermostat is a programmer and a room stat rolled into one. It allows you to decide when the heating switches on to maintain a certain temeprature according to your preference. The basic mode of operation is based on a sensor that measures air temperature. When the air temperature reaches the preset value, the wireless thermostat will switch the heating off. Additionally, it allows you to decide on times when the heating should be on or off meaning you can switch it off completely during the day to sav on your heating bill. It also has a programme that lets you set different temperatures based on days of the week or varied times to help you plan your home life. When you first install a Salus wireless thermostat, it takes time for you to figure out the lowest temperature setting that feels comfortable. Once that is done, you can adjust the temperature to a higher setting if required. However, setting it too high will lead to an energy waste and is unlikely to provide much comfort because increased heating output makes it difficult to breathe and dries the air too much. If you set complex programs based on various days of the week, ensure your thermostat clock is correct, especially around the transition between summer time and winter time. According to Salus RT510 default settings, the time is set to 12:00 so you have to make sure you set it to the correct time. Position your Salus wireless thermostat in a way that it receives an uninterrupted air flow, otherwise it won't be able to gauge the air temperature precisely. Don't block its air intake by furniture or other heavy objects. Also avoid installing the thermostat next to heat sources or large home appliances. This particular Salus thermostat is compatible with different heating systems including gas, oil and electric. It also has a few advanced features such as the Boost button that lets you increase the room temperature without messing up your regular heating programme. Also, if you don't feel like spending time setting up heating rules for each day of the week, you can use the start-up programme that is already built in the system. Salus RT510 wireless thermostat has two main modes - 5-2 days programme with separate settings for weekdays and weekends and a 24h programme that allows up to 42 different settings during the week based on times that you set.
